group lesson

Each day of our program is divided into two sessions with a break in between so that you can relax, drink a cup of complimentary organic Chiapas coffee and talk to other students and teachers while you enjoy a superb view of the city from our terrace.

In the first session, we focus on Spanish grammar. We teach grammatical structures in context, and with enough exercises to master the material.

The second session is dedicated to conversation. The objective is to improve your conversational skills in Spanish, offering you the opportunity to practice the skills you learned in the previous session.

The teacher encourages all the students to participate so that they have the opportunity to improve their conversational skills.  This is possible because the groups are kept small.  The students can choose between a variety of subjects which are carefully chosen to spark interesting conversations.

You can choose to study in the morning or in the afternoon.

This course is ideal for people who would like instruction that adapts to their personal objectives regarding scheduling and learning goals.

This program is also divided into two sessions with a break in between.
We normally recommend that one session emphasize grammar and the other conversation but this can be adapted to the student’s desires/needs. We will advance at your pace, always keeping communication as the main goal.

In the second session your teacher will help you to practice the skills you gained in the previous session. During the conversation class the teacher will provide you with constructive feedback, while allowing the student to speak as freely as possible. You can choose the topic you want to talk about, or your teacher can refer to newspapers, magazines or other sources for interesting topics. In this way, you will increase your vocabulary and at the same time, learn about all the fascinating aspects of Mexican culture.

You can choose to study in the morning or in the afternoon, or any other available combination.

In this course, we recommend one teacher for grammar, a second for conversation and a third for the extra practice that you might want to cover any specific concerns (prepositions, pronunciation, vocabulary, idiomatic expressions, etc.)

Afternoon cultural activities

Social FridayIn the afternoons, you will have the opportunity to participate in our cultural activities, designed to help you practice your Spanish and allow you to experience more of Mexican culture.

Some of the activities include:

  • Visiting a local museum such as the Mayan Medicine Museum.
  • Discussions about the political, economical and social life of Chiapas.
  • Have fun in a Salsa class!

These cultural activities are generally free, but some of them may have a small additional cost.
